Cool, well.... we all go the pub in Preston Friday dinner and after work (can you tell I'm a Civil Servant, lol). Feel free to give me a shout if you may have to do any waiting about.

I managed to get a friend of mine to come with me yes, I was a bit dubious about asking him, I didn't want anyone to know I was going to be honest. I'll probably tell more people after the event. Anyway, after giving me a hard time for a couple of weeks, telling me I don't need surgery and I should just diet, telling me I'm not big enough for surgery... and the list goes on.... (he's built like a bean pole) he finally agreed to be my bag carrier, lol.

Thank you Carrie, I've added you, I hope you don't mind. Your journey is almost identical to the one I'm hoping to have (roughly the same starting BMI). I hope I have even half the success you have had, you look incredible!

Yup!!! Put on a stone a year for the first 5 years of working there!! 5 more years on and it's time to lose it again, lol.

I was always slim before I worked there, too many excuses to eat, too much temptation, not enough exercise. I'd love to take voluntary redundancy but it's not on offer at our place at the moment (HMRC). I'm in the middle of doing an Open University degree in my spare time though, which will hopefully be my ticket out of there once completed.

I am so excited about it!!! If my plan goes ok, I can wear a nice dress at Christmas, that's my goal! I know I won't quite be to target, but it will be nice to go shopping for a relatively "normal" sized dress instead of passing rails of floral tents hoping to find something reasonably fashionable.

I'm really chuffed actually, I've managed to get my BMI down to 36.9, I thought my surgery BMI was going to be 37.8. I just wish I could sustain this without having to go through surgery!!

:frown: Thanks Freckles, though I'm not sure about the looks OR the brains! I just hope the next couple of years are transformative in more ways than one. I've wasted too much of my life already, don't want to be feeling the same in another 10 years. Thank you so much. You have done brilliantly so far and I'm sure you will continue to do so.

Thanks Bobo, I already know I won't regret it!! :(

Thats what I enjoyed Jo, fitting into a size 18 jeans and I still have a few stones to go, but I will get there, I'll be happy with a size 14 at my ripe old age.

Woot...bring on the next fill Freddyboy, when i can afford it lol.

Well done, trust me you will, it will be amazing. I know we all wish we could have done it ourselves but the the best thing about the band is that is takes away the fear. I have lost large amounts of weight in the past and then put it back on. I could never enjoy the feeling because i was so scared that i would put it back on again, which of course i did. The reason i am so happy now is that i can enjoy it because that fear is no longer there.

Being able to wear great stuff is the best and going shopping is so theraputic now and not panic inducing.

Gentlemen cover your ears....I went to get re fitted for bras today which i have had to do loads and i have gone from a 40E/F to a 32 DD now. I also bought thigh high boots today aswell. Its not the buying of things that's important its the fact that before i had the band i had never owned a pair of boots because my calves never fitted in them. Now i have 6 pairs! it's the small things like this aswell as the big stuff like health etc that make me smile now!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
