WHAT'S THE SECRET?!

Recommended Posts

eat more often? less often? every 2hrs? 3 meals/2 Snacks? shakes in between? I can't say "whatever works for you".. ugh I'm stuck in a stall & haven't lost what I'd hope to by now either.. I eat very clean, VERY limited carbs if any,.. and it's never bread or sugary stuff.

so I'm curious as to what is working best that ppl have noticed??

First how much have you lost..in what timeframe..slow is not always a bad thing? How is your exercise? Water intake?

I am personally trying intermittent fasting with 16:8..16 hours of fasting and 8 hour window to eat and I'm mixing my calories up too..two non consecutive days with only 500 calories each day..rest of the week normal calorie range to see if it helps me.

For me, especally for the first year, it was high Protein and very low carbs (under 20) daily.

Now I do carb cycling.

I try to eat 5 times a day, 3 meals and 2 Snacks, eat very clean and im mindful of what and how I am eating. On some days, I dream about eating the contents of the whole fridge, pantry and cupboards hahaha :D

Are you eating enough, drinking enough fluids, keeping to the 'rules' of not drinking with meals. Have bad habits come back without you really noticing? Do you log everything you eat? Do you exercise every day? Are you being honest with yourself as to what you are eating/drinking?

Kate

What are your calories? I also do intermittent fasting, 16/8. I eat 3 times a day: lunch, snack, and dinner. However, I do think that the one most important thing is religiously tracking calories.

IF is awesome, especially when adding weight training. Definitely mixing up your normal routine in both diet and exercise is how to get your body to respond differently and get out of a stall.

I eat six times a day usually. Always Protein first. Never fall short of my Protein goal (100 grams), Water, or taking my Vitamins.

I think we need a lot more information about your situation before we can help you.

so i guess i need to be tracking calories too.. cannot believe i'm actually saying that out loud.. i followed a NO carb diet yrs ago & was never focused on how many calories i consumed per day.. i will have to be more accountable by weighing & measuring bc it could be that i have been taking in TOO many calories?!?! i once read on one of these sites, you don't have to count/measure bc as long as you're following the rules & have Protein, . veggies, the "tool" will stop you from taking in too muich

It's highly unlikely that you are taking in too many calories as long as you are eating Protein first and not grazing all day long. If you put protein first three meals a day and have two protein-only Snacks, you probably can't get much above 1500 calories a day. 300 to 400 calories per meal and 100-200 calories per snack would put you at 1100-1600 calories.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
