I am on day 3 out of 12 on my pre-op diet. 4 Protein shakes or bars a day plus one high protein/low carb meal.

I really struggled yesterday with feeling SO HUNGRY... but today I'm feeling more confident. I think a lot of my anxiety on this diet is caused by me being so used to eating and snacking on things that taste a certain way.

The shakes and bars are NOT tasty... in fact, they are kind of gross. But they DO make me feel full... so I'm trying to get used to the fact that if I'm feeling full and craving other stuff at the same time, it's really not HUNGER... it's HEAD hunger and it's essential that I train my body to deal with it better.

I've just finished day 6 of the liquid diet. I've lost 15lbs since the 1st of the year. I knew I would have to do the liquid for 2 weeks so I started preparing myself the 1st so I cut out sugar and tea (I'm from the south so sweet tea is a staple). I think that has helped me with the liquid diet. I've taken my shakes out for pizza with my family and didn't even cheat with 1 bite. I've been fine so far and I truly hope I can stay this strong for the remainder of my 2 weeks.

I will say I had green tea (hot) tonight and was surprised at how full and satisfied it made me feel. I've had clear Soup from Japanese restaurants which I love! And I've made homemade bone broth. First time I tried it I love it but 2nd time was gross. I'm going to keep trying because it's got to be better for you than canned broth.

I started my four shake/1 "reasonable" meal diet today. Surgery is the 30th. I'm so crabby! I am trying to knock it off and not think about all the stuff I won't be having and think about how GOOD I am going to feel. I think after a couple days once the sugars get out of my system I will be okay. Good luck to all of you... we can totally do this!

Just look on the bright side you get one meal a day. That's better than a lot of us have. , but I hear it gets better after. Like day 3 so hold in there you can do it

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
