How much have you lost 1st month post op?

Recommended Posts

Not quite a full month, but very close.

Surgery 12/19/16

SW - 332

CW - 307.4

So I've only lost 24.6 pounds. Very disappointing since I can easily lose more than that by following strict low carb. :(

I was sleeved the same day. HW202. SW199. CW186. I too have NO energy and my bp stays around 92/52. Surgeons office is not concerned with low bp and other doc says got to er. Just wondering what your doc says is the reason for low bp and what to do.

I had mini gastric bypass surgery on 12/12/16. I have lost 26 lbs as far as I know (I weigh every Sunday). I've been on a stall for the last three weeks, losing a little over 2 lbs for two weeks, and last Sunday only losing close to 2 lbs. I have upped my exercising and can see the inches coming off. I'll just continue to exercise and get my fluids and Protein in.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
