About those funny brownies -- yes, if you dip them in enough milk, they'll work fine for the mushy stage, but what'll you do when you crave a pallet of Cheetos afterward? Have to substitute guacamole, I guess.

Sounds like Bandstock is a GO! I'll be there, schedule permitting. I hope some other Chicagoans can attend, too -- not that we're planning to recreate the Grant Park 1968 scene. Young whippersnappers, ask a geezer.

YAY!!! Can't wait!!! Do I assume that it will include music???? since it's named after the infamous "Woodstock"??? Or just a bunch of us lapband roadies...??? FUN!!!

When is Chicago date set for??? And WHERE in Michigan would this be? Can I help???? Maybe plan a LapBand Olympics??? The wheels are turning!!! Cool!!! The funny brownies sound great.....bring back great memories.....yummmmmmm. I knew I saved my headbands and bellbottoms for something!!! Maybe I will fit back into them by then! Keep me posted!!! so to speak!

Hey!!! June 25th sounds great!!! already marked my 2005 calendar!!! It's a DATE!!!

The FIRST ANNUAL BANDSTOCK - !!! the possibilities are endless!!! Can either make it an annual "Michigan" event or have it in a different state each year!....

We can have music for this Bandstock??? LOL (or make our own :) )

Maybe some local bands can join in....get some of the local radio stations involved....start the first annual lapband convention!!! TV and RADIO people LOVE that kinda stuff!!! Lila Lazarus....here we come!!!

Anyway...the wheels are turning!!!

I'm not as experienced in these bashes like the Vegas and Chicago Bash people, and like Greg and Lyle and WhippleDaddy....but I've helped plan NUMEROUS successful events, huge and small!!! So anything I can do...please let me know!!!

I have started knitting now, instead of crocheting. I am halfway through a hat. I learned when I was young, but never made more than a square. I am excited to be doing something new. I plan to make a sweater, but needed to start small. :nervous I bought a book called "Stitch & Bitch" to help me remember, and I call Mom when I get in a bind -- about twice a day. :laugh (I know...this is really just an excuse to buy MORE YARN!)

Darcy, are you planning another quilt? What are your hands up to??

There are so many "projects" I need to start or complete. I really have lots to keep me busy if I just get going on it. Last night I was trying to knit and eat Fritos at the same time -- the Fritos won, but it's time to reverse that trend. I need to keep my mind off food for a while, especially while I detox from the holidays. :(

That's a great one, Lisa! Do you have a guitar already? Some lessons are a good way to start, gives good accountability. DH is looking at guitars and lessons for his grandson's birthday.

I am going to take some one-day knitting lessons to get started on the right foot.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
