Pizza that is the ?

Recommended Posts

I have not tried these being only 5 weeks post op, BUT my wife bought these little ultra thin protien Pizza Crust at HyVee. They are about 7" around and have 110 calories 9 carbs and 16 protien. You get 3 of them for $4 I think. My 2 kids age 7 and 9 both ate a whole one so they can't be that bad.

Golden Home is the brand name.

Have not heard of these and will Che k them out. Glad your kids have been guinea pigs!

I made the cauliflower pizza. It was ok, but didn't do the trick. I found a recipe for pizza in a bowl, low carb. Looked good. The bariatric ricotta bake satisfies my Italian craving too.

Check out a recipe called Fathead pizza. It's a recipe for a low carb Pizza Crust and I've heard amazing reviews. If you're going to have pizza might as well try to make it as healthy as possible if you have a choice.

We had pizza for supper tonight. It was a frozen DiGiorno Supreme Pizza, bought in a 3 pack at BJ's. We cut it into 6 slices and I ate the toppings from 2 pieces. It was delicious! I can't do the crust, but I've nibbled at the very crusty edge a little bit. It, too, was delicious, but I know that if I have even a couple of bites of Pizza Crust I will be uncomfortably full- and uncomfortable for several hours afterward, so I just don't eat it!

We had pizza last night, thin crust from a local pizzeria. I was able to eat 3/4 of a slice and that satisfied me. I had no issues with it but I seem to have a sleeve of steel because I have yet to find a food that bothers me. I'm 10wks out.

Yes you can. It depends on your body and your choice actually. I like thin crust pizza, it sits well and doesn't make me feel stuffed or sick. Haven't had regular pizza yet I'm 3 months out and still a bit scared to try it.

Yes you can I can eat one piece of pizza a year after sleeve surgery in my old life I'd have eaten an entire pizza moderation is the key and If I do have a piece of pizza it's a treat
But yes you can enjoy a piece of pizza eventually
I had mine about 8 months out you really want to use the rapid weight loss time to its full potential while it lasts

Lots of my sleeved friends do the keto/low carb pizza recipes on Pinterest. They are great if you are craving, but don't want the carb overload.

Try grilling a portobello mushroom. Then add a little sauce, cheese and toppings to the inside of a cap. Healthy alternative and a quarter of one will fill you up

I saw this recipe on a website. The crust in pizza is not good for you since it has a ton of carbs so I have been googling low carb ways to make a pizza. Ive found so many good ones.

I eat toppings and a bite of crust. I stop before I'm full though so could fit in more ..

I'm 13 months post-surgery. I lost weight steadily for 6 months and then have been basically stalled, but I'm working on that (MUST get back to regular exercise). Anyhow... I am a pizza-holic, or I was before surgery. Now I find I can eat the toppings but the crust over-fills me and makes me feel awful. Usually I eat the toppings from 2 pieces of a small pizza, but Sunday we were at a friend's home. He'd made pizza, it was very saucy, so I ate 2 pieces. They were small squares- maybe 2"x2"- with a very thin, soft crust, but BOY did I regret that choice! I have to stay away from the crust... even just a couple of bites of that lovely, thick edge... But that's OK, I've lost a ton of weight and am happy!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
