Delarla/Lisa are you around!!! VEGAS

Recommended Posts

Lisa,

My mom was to come and visit me over the holidays and one of the things she wanted to do was go to Vegas (it has been over 40 years since she has been there). Anyway to make a long story short, she fell at church on Sunday and broke her wrist to the point that she's having surgery today on it (she lives in Florida).

So,here is the deal. I will be at the Flamingo for the night of the 22 and 23rd. I have two tickets to see Mama Mia on the 23rd. Are you available? It's on me, I just hate to see the tickets go to waste as already her flight part is lost. They are 3rd row center tickets!!

Also, we could have a slumber party in my room if you wanted to get away from hubby for an evening or two.

Let me know if you are available or if any other bandster wants an escape, all the need is a car or plane ticket -- the rest is on me!

I've seen Mamma Mia twice, but never from the 3rd row. And it's a big coincidence that I'll be all alone on Christmas Eve. Chris never, ever, ever goes out with the guys. I wish he would! But he accepted free football tickets in hopes of giving them to a friend. But there's an extra ticket, and the guys talked him into going. He's going to have separation anxiety from his Mamma (me.) So I'm free! But I'll want to sleep at home cuz I'm waking up early to have Christmas with the neighbor kids. I'll PM you my phone numbers.

Mama Mia would be the night of the 23rd, not the 24th as I flying home that morning. I've already seen it here in San Francisco (about 7th row back) and was only going to go again because that's what my mother wanted me to do.

If you still want to go let me know (email me your phone number and I will call you with the details once I'm there).

Hey, nobody said I was good with numbers! The 23rd would be Thursday, right? Maybe I screwed up my head real good, and maybe that's the same night as the football game? Heck, just call me, I'm good to go! (702) 419-6054.

I just hated to see that ticket go to waste and I'll treat you to dinner at the Bellagio prior to the show. It will be so much fun to see you again.

I will call you once I'm there and have picked up the tickets.

Be seeing you soon.

Michelle and Vera, how I wish you were going to. Greg, the extra bed is still available and Lisa and I would love to be escorted about town with you. And just always remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Lisa, I can also run to your house to make margaritas again and then we'd really be in trouble. :D

So tomorrow my plane leaves at 7AM and I'll be there at 9. If you want to do something Wednesday night, my cell is 408 623 8665.

Looking forward to getting together again. :D

OH man, I wish I could come. I even looked at flights to see if it was doable. I can't make it though. I am flying out on Friday morning for TN for the holiday weekend with family. It would have been fun to spend part of it with you ladies before heading to TN.

Have loads of fun and get pics.

Penni, it would be wonderful to have you there. I felt like I really didn't get to talk to you too much (cuz Lisa was just hanging all over you). You and your hubby are such sweethearts. To bad you can't get a layover in Vegas.

Have fun on your trip and we will have a drink for you so you don't feel left out.

Carol, do you really think mentioning alcohol is smart? Did you MISS the part where I was running around the back yard in a red lace thong after a few buckets of your famous marguerites? And Vera, I remember you raving about the eggs Bene. I'm all about dinner at Bellagio! Carol, guess what? I was wrong (and right) cuz Chris's football game is the same night. This works out awesome! What time is the show?

Michelle, thanks for noticing! Guess who took that picture? Miss Chloe did! She's only five and she takes such nice photos!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
