When you think you are constipated and take laxatives and only get gas, because you haven't eaten anything in 5 days.

(And yes, I'm in the hospital because of stricture)

Well you won't ever be able to throw back a bottle of Water in 1 minute... or drink while eating... but the further out from surgery you get the easier it is to drink Water. It took me 15 minutes in the hospital to drink an ounce of water, but today I can drink almost like normal and don't feel thirsty. BUT you do need to make an effort to drink throughout the day because like I said, you can't just throw back a glass or two.

You get jealous of people eating and drinking water, at the same time! :o

This is something I'm wondering ...
Do I will feel thirsty forever after the sleeve?
After we Will drink again like normal people?

And your fiance. Any suggestions. I love him, but worried he's finding what I loose.

Cook smaller portions so there is only enough for supper or take the leftovers and put them in storage containers in the freezer for either a quick supper when you are running late one day or smaller portions for lunch.

When you've thrown out most of your underwear, because when you are sleeping, gas isn't always gas!! lol

Well I've just started this journey and am still Pre-Op but you've certainly just terrified me.

I'm commando all the time, gym shorts for sleeping and those are not cheap >.>

-

You might be pre-op WLS if you look around and all friends and co-workers have the Facebook app open and you've got the Bariatric-Pal app open doing research and reading stories.

When the sight disabled guy who owns the store in your building says, "You look tired and drawn out."

True story, the almost blind and told me that. I was floored and didn't know how to respond.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
