I had surgery on 12/20. Still pretty tender and sore throats feels a little better, getting all the fluids I can and walking as much as possible! I've heard people recommend Gas-x strips has anyone tried these?

I also had the surgery on the same day. I got my mom to get be some strips yesterday and I have been passing gas normally. It doesn't relieve all of the gas pains but it does help.

This sore throat though is worse after I sleep I'm going to try the salt Water solution today to see if that helps any. And getting back to walking my dog so will be walking more. I went to the store yesterday and that walking really tired me out. Goal today is to sip sip

I have a question for all of you. I know we shouldn't be anywhere near a scale right now, but who can help it? I went from 198 to 181 at home on my pre surgery diet. When I was weighed right before my surgery I was 178. Yesterday I got on the scale and I was 193. What's going on? I understand swelling and maybe the hospital fluids ( and lucky me got my period on my first day home). But that seems like a lot of weight. Anyone else experience this?

That's will power, Philly! I called my friend who was sleeved in Oct. She said the same thing happened to her. It took about a month for the swelling to go down.

Hi guys! I had my surgery on 12/21, came home on 12/22 (yesterday). Everything seems to be going smoothly! Only felt nauseous once after taking liquid pain medication today, which passed pretty quickly. I think the worst part of surgery was that I wasn't allowed to even rinse my mouth with Water until the day after my surgery. Also my lips were cut up from the breathing tube.

As of today, no hunger and not too much gas pain, although chicken broth has never tasted so good .

I took my bandages off in the shower today, and just one of the incisions is a bit more tender and swollen than the others. Hope everyone is doing well!

XOXO Casie

Good advice, Dopel! I regret that I did. The doctor's office just called to check in and I asked her. She said everyone gains that weight. It's temporary and due to the fluids they pump you full of at the hospital. It goes away with the swelling.

10 days from now when you finally poop and you go through your final round of second-guessing yourself, you will start getting excited. BTW, DON'T weigh yourself for a few weeks. You have gained a bunch of IV Water weight. And your body is not going to start letting go of it's fat cells for a little while longer.

Hi! I was sleeved on 12/21 too! I'm in Brooklyn, 42 (but fresh to death), 5'2 HW241 SW 234. I bought a fancy scale and I am not even thinking of weighing myself yet. I also had a hernia that was repaired. I did out patient so I had mine at 6:30 am and was home by 3. Although It's like a mini hospital in my bedroom now from the things they sent home with me. I feel good today. Sad that I can't drink big gulps of Water. I'm drinking homemade Protein shakes. Frozen berries, whey, almond milk and Greek yogurt. I can't handle the pre made ones.

I am barely getting anything down tho, hopefully tomorrow I can do better. My issue comes from a small spasm in my stomach, like a cramp I get sometimes after I swallow. Maybe it's from the hernia being fixed tho. But it's slowly going away. And I farted today too!!! I was so happy. And then one tiny poop came too. I was so happy I had to see it before I flushed it. The 1st and 2nd day were so bad that I'm honestly surprised at how fast I feel better. The first days I couldn't even talk- the nausea and gas pain paralyzed me.

My husband made bone broth for me that has 15gm of Protein so I am looking forward to that. It takes 48 to 60 hours to make though, but supposed to be very healthy for you. Thanks everyone for sharing your posts, made me feel better to read. -paige

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
