When will I feel normal?

Recommended Posts

I got sleeved yesterday and I was wondering when I will begin to feel normal again. I still have sharp gas pains and stomach cramps. I'm also so drowsy.

I'm 5 days post-op and I'm amazed how good I feel. Hang in there. Day one and two were the worst.

yeah I'm 4 days out and feel pretty good. I think childbirth was much worse for me, but that's just my experience

I am five days out and feel really good. I went to the grocery store today, and went to grab a cup of Decaf coffee and some talk time with fellow sleevers. We all heal differently, so keep walking and getting those fluids in, and you will begin to feel better with each day.

The first three days were not fun. I remember walking in the hotel with my sister with this miserable expression on my face and that nasty taste in my mouth. There were other women who had their surgeries a day or two a head of me and they were so cheerful and happy. I just loathed them. One of them told me that I need to hang on till day three and that it was going to get much much better. It did. The first two days out of hospital will be hell and tiring but then your energy levels will come back and you will stop feeling so miserable. Give it 3-4 days.

I am 12 days out and the gas is almost completely gone. My incisions are healing well and I feel pretty good...walking every day and devoted to caring for myself as I heal. Putting myself first right now. You will feel better every day you wake up.

I'm 5 days out and still really sore where they took my stomach out of the biggest incision. It's not the actual incision that hurts, but the muscles behind it. It's a deep and nagging soreness. Feels a bit like a pulling feeling.

I'm a little discouraged because others are feeling almost completely better by now and going shopping and to the grocery store and I only get up to walk and use the restroom. I couldn't imagine going out right now :(

Everybody recovers at a different rate.

I never really had a lot of sharp pain, but had deep aches like I'd been kicked that started getting a lot better at about a week out.

I have auto-immune arthritis and had to be off my meds for the surgery, so I didn't really feel back to normal until probably over a month out, but it got significantly better after I got on the pureed/soft foods stage, which was after my 2 week checkup, so about 3 weeks out there was a significant increase in energy for me.

So hang in there, it really does get better!!

I am 7days out and for the most part I feel well ,I've just had 2 incidents with dumping this week and boy that's no fun let me tell u. Ull start to move around a lil more in a couple of days, I have found that even walking around for a min of 10min every day is key for everthing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
