Lap band to RNY

I had my revision on Monday 12-12-16. So I am home recovering now. I had lap band placed in 3-2011. Complications lead me here. I believe it's a rou b her recovery than before. Trying to get in my h20 & meds. Anyone in the same situation?

Did you have the band removed and RNY done at the same time? My surgeon separated them by almost 6 months because he said my stomach needed to heal from all the scarring from the band. My recovery from the RNY was easier than the other two surgeries.

Remember your stomach is SUPER swollen so take it easy! I found warm drinks were much easier than cold.

Had mine on October 4. I had no real scarring so was done in the same procedure. I found the recovery easier than the band. I also found that warm liquids worked best. I also discovered my hunger pangs were actually acid and that I needed to go on a ppi

My revision is scheduled for January 25th. I will have the band removed and then have RNY done at the same time. Please keep us updated on your progress!

I had band to RNY on Thursday. Yes, this is a tougher recovery, but I'm so glad it was 1 surgery to go through and recover from than 2. I don't feel too bad, and I'm confident I'll be back to normal before long. I wish you the best!

Dr thought I was safe to do in one surgery. But he had to remove 25% of my stomach, repair his talent hernia & remove adhesions. This is definitely a harder recovery. But I'm getting better everyday.
