Surgery is this Friday 12/16. PreOp work was Friday 12/9. Results came in yesterday all is good except White blood cells in urine. Out for culture - most likely uti. My question will my surgery get postponed or can they do surgery while on antibiotics? I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst.

I also had blood in my urine. Didn't stop my surgery. During my stay at the hospital I was given something for the uti. The pill needed to be crashed. Dah.

Wow, it's like you read my mind. I'm prone to UTIs and the last one I had I didn't even realize it so I've been thinking of going to my Pcp to have her do a urine sample. Of course I was worried this might affect my surgery date (December 28). Glad to read other people have this concern.

I also had a UTI right before the surgery. Crushing and drinking the antibiotocs was the worst thing ever. I feel you... Good luck
