Recommended Posts

Okay here's the thing. I'm a Jersey Girl : ) and I work for the State... I plan on having my surgery the end of January and it's COLD!!! So I'm wondering what will I wear back to work this winter. I'm eating better now and losing a little here and there and I have the 2 week prep diet then the surgery and post diet. So when I return to work I can't go in looking like a Rag Doll.... and it 's to cold to wear a dress, now that I think about it I hardly wear dresses I think I have 2 work appropriate ones  Gosh I need help! I'm starting to worry about every little thing... Blahhh

I am not post-op, so I'm no expert. But based on what I've seen and heard, my best guess would be that you're gonna be smaller, but your clothes now should still look okay. Might be looser, but shouldn't be too bad.

I will be two months out in two days, and I am down 44 lbs from my weight on B-Day. I thought I had enough in the way of old clothes to get me through the winter, but I have gone down four sizes around my waist since I started in June. I don't look so good in a dress either. But if you are talking two months, you'll be into March, right? It should be a little warmer in Joisey by then.

I've been shopping in my own closet so far. Lol I'm about to the end of that though. My daughters closet is next. ..if she won't be scared for life that is. I really don't want to spend a lot on clothing I'm only going to wear for a month or two. I've been meaning to go to some resale shops, just haven't had time yet.

I need to go find an old picture. And as you might suspect, it has a story. It ain't a little black dress, but it will be along the same lines.

@@Raymia Oh yeah, I'm in eastern PA, so I know how March can be.

@@Raymia Many years ago, I got into an online argument with a very good friend of mine in real life about art. It was on a woodworking forum where we were both professionals. He was emphatic about all art needing to be appreciated, while I countered that just because it was art didn't make it good art. I wrote, "If I put on a pink tutu and danced across the stage, it would be art, but it would NOT be good art!"

Well, a whole bunch of mutual friends and acquaintances started egging me on. They wanted to see me in the tutu. So one night, when I had too much to drink and not enough to do, I went looking for a tutu picture. I corralled Mrs. LittleBill into helping me (against her will) and we photoshopped my head onto the body of some poor little girl in an online catalog for ballet supplies. It created quite a stir on our forum, and earned me a reputation for doing outrageous things. This picture is close to 15 years old.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
