Any October Surgeries?

Recommended Posts

Hi Tracey

I do live in Ontario, in Belleville.

I did a lot of research and I started out contacting the TLBC, and then I found the one in Mississauga and contacted them. The main deciding factor for me was I was introduced to a few people who have had the band for 5 and 7 years and have maintained goal for many years who still goes for fills and unfills to help them maintain their weight. TLBC have unlimited fills and refills where the other has a five year and then you pay. I figure I've paid enough and that this is a life time journey for me. I am only 43 and hope to have a long life, so I am sure it will be a forever thing to keep under control. The one girl I met just went on a cruise a few weeks ago and has no fill since she hit goal, but put on 10 pounds so she came right back got a fill and is dealing with right away. That is living smart and being in control. I've met Dr. Yau and others at the clinic and it was just right for me. I felt confident with Dr. Yau's ability and his plain simple truth. He was very personable which is unusual for a surgeon. Those were the reasons I went that way. I've not heard any thing bad about the other clinic in fact lots of good, it just felt better to me. I hope that helps.

Good Luck!!!

Hope

My goodness, there are a whole bunch of you scheduled for October that haven't introduced yourselves to your fellow October Bandsters the TENaciousTENS! There's about 85 of us so far, being banded in October and it would be great to add you all to the list! Go to: Monthly Support Groups > October 2007 > TENaciousTENs Roll Call. I'm the keeper of the list and would love to add you all. There's lots of support and you can find others who will be banded on your same date!

:welcome2:

I've just been reading, not a lot of posting, couldn't figure out how to get to some areas.... so will try. My banding will be Oct 5, I was required a 2 wk pre op instant Breakfast only, with any no cal liquids, and am sure tired of diahrrea, and bleeding hemorrhoids due to it. I did switch from milk to lactaid free, or soy milk, that didn't help, then added benefiber, and that hasn't helped either... so I will really be tired of the hershey squirts by the time the two week after the band is over. My dr is saying another 2 wks of carnation inst breakfast following the lab banding... what's norm for most of you? any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Hi

My sugery date is also Oct. 17 in TJ. I am also nervous about the liquid diet. We can do it. I am ready to get started on the journey. Lets keep in touch. I am from Oklahoma, married with a 7 year old son. I am 45 and want to be around to watch him grow up, so I am taking back my health.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
