It is common to feel fear prior to surgery. Most people do. This fear could easily be manifested in your dream state.

I have visions of myself going in and out of the ER. Seeing myself suffer and almost die. But I know this is my anxiety.

Your mind sometimes plays tricks on you. Not everything you think or feel is true.

Is it scary. Sure it is. But a lot of people did this and they are up and fine. So yeah.

If you really have bad anxiety i suggest to talk to your caregiver.

Try to rationalize your fears and read more positive succes stories. And trust that you are in good hands. The dr and nurses are going to keep a very very close eye on you during the whole process.

So there is likely no chance that you won't be able to wake up. They will make sure you are up on your feet ASAP!

it's just anxiety. I don't remember having these kinds of dreams, but I'm sure it's just because you're nervous about it.

I just had an awful nightmare, like a combination of The Maze Runner, Cube and something else I cant put my finger on. Surgery is Wednesday, 2/22.

I had my surgery November 28, 2016. It's interesting that you mention the nightmares because I had them, too. Only mine were after surgery for the first few weeks. Maybe it was the anesthesia or just the small amount of pain, since I didn't take any pain meds? Also my surgery was complicated by a failed gastric plication that caused a blockage and caused a lot of tissue death. In any case, they stopped and I'm doing great! I hope everyone who experienced them got past them and you're all doing well!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
