Hello there-- I had my VSG Aug 2013. I had been doing extremely well until recently. I am now regaining weight rather quickly. I have seemingly uncontrollable cravings. When I eat I get full pretty quickly but I am hungry again within the next thirty or so minutes. I am an emotional eater and nothing makes me sick. I can unfortunately eat anything without a problem. I started at 350 and my lowest post surgery weight was 215. I am now fighting at 255 and scared to death. I do well for a month and shed pounds then relapse and regain even more. My body is now very sensitive to carbs. I gain weight so easily. I just made a decision 3 days ago to refocus and take charge so I've been hitting the gym again and logging my foods for the past few days. Also decided to check in here with others to hear your stories. Thank you for listening. Blessings!

I'm in the exact same boat. I gain quick! My sleeve can withstand everything and nothing makes me sick either. I'm recommitting myself to my tool and making it work. We can do this!!! Good Luck!

Like Tfarr, I too am 2 years post op and am in pretty much the same place she is. I am happy with my weight loss overall, but would like to lose those last 15 or so pounds. I have stayed pretty much the same weight for about 9 months now and seem to be unable to lose any more. My eating habits are pretty good, very low carb, lots of exercise. Calories around 1400. Still can't lose. My doctor says that maybe my body is just where it wants to be. Anyone else gone through this? How did you start losing again?

I'm just over 6 years out. Took 18 months to lose all of my excess weight (160 pounds) and I've maintained at goal ever since. Love love love my sleeve and Wouldn't change a thing about my surgery. I do my part by making smart choices and let my sleeve do its part with restriction.

However, if all I had was my sleeve, I probably would not be quite as successful. Bad food choices trump good restriction any day. It's the psychological tools I developed with my therapist and my support group that helped me overcome the behaviors that got me fat in the first place. the combination of surgery and therapy have done nothing but improve everything about my life.

I'm 4 1/2 years post op...I'm struggling so bad right now. I do not see myself as a success story, well maybe in the first year. I have stretched my pouch and feel like I have little restriction. I'm also pre diabetic again and back on cholesterol meds. All I think about is food ugh. food is my worst enemy. I have gained like 40 some pounds since surgery. I need to get back on track but it's been so hard for me since my mom passed away two years ago. Feeling defeated

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
