This is my story

I was on this site a while back but I forgot my username. So here I am again! My name is Tiffany, I'm 31, I was sleeved 13 months ago. Best decision of my life! I started my journey at 258 lbs. I was sick, my dr told me to check out the program offered through my insurance. I was reluctant but once I started attending the weekly classes I knew the sleeve was gonna be for me. I am 13 months post op, I reached my goal weight at 8 months post op. Since then I've gone on to lose another 13 lbs. My current weight is 132. I couldn't be happier with my success. Here's a few pictures from the journey me at my biggest! 258 lbs post-305915-14792566734415_thumb.jpg

Thru the process post-305915-14792567585483_thumb.jpg

the day I came home from vacation and realized I had lost 6 pounds and was under my goal weight! The first picture is from Hawaii vacation 2013. post-305915-14792568307337_thumb.jpg

Thank you! This site really got to me at first! I would see people losing faster than me and it drove me insane. The mental part of this surgery has been the toughest part for me.

I walk 4 days a week, for about 30 minutes. I have fibromyalgia really bad so too much puts me in bed for days at a time. I'm still only eating about 800-1000 calories a day, 1000 is really pushing it. My dr wants me to be eating 1200 but it's just not possible. I usually have about 50 grams of Protein. I do not drink my Protein. The shakes killed my stomach I tried every protein recommended by my dr and other people and then some, it all made me really sick. I had found some really good ones but they made me so sick I couldn't keep drinking them. tuna, chicken, Greek yogurt, and cheese are my go to Proteins. I get around 50 carbs a day (Drs recommendation). I still drop pounds from time to time. But it's not like it was in the beginning. My dr actually told me at my one year appointment I could only lose 10 more pounds before they would start getting worried about losing too much. So I'm trying to just stay where I'm at. I don't really do anything in particular to lose, I just follow my Drs plan.

Thank you! I have a very small amount of excess skin in my stomach area. It's not enough for my insurance to cover the removal. I have a little more excess on my thighs and arms but it's still not the end all for me. With the right clothes you wouldn't be able to tell at all. I only walk about 4 days a week. 30 minutes a day.

Thanks for your reply. I am doing exactly what u do but I am able to drink my protein so i am taking in about 80g a day. I can not go to the 1200 cal either but since i was moved from 800 to 1200 i actually gained 11lb. I work out about 30 min every 2 days. Hmm,....I wonder what else I could do to make this weight-loss start up....

You look wonderful! I hope you feel really good since all of the weight loss. Are you continuing to take your Vitamins?

When you mentioned that you don't drink your Protein, that concerns me because I do since I'm a vegetarian. I do eat cheese, eggs, tofu, and almonds. I haven't had my surgery yet.@@tpoor25

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
