Worried that prescription for antacids due to stomach pain will delay my op.

The doctor has just diagnosed lansoprazole a proton pump inhibitor for stomach pain which may be caused by acid. I'm worried this will be a problem and delay my operation. Any Ideas?

It shouldn't. I was on a max dose of a PPI for years before surgery and they put me back on it for 30 days after.

It should not impact your surgery but give them a call and ask.

Thanks - and I meant prescribed not diagnosed of course. I'm filling in pre- surgery form so will put it on that too. By the way were you able to stop taking it eventually? I still have to have blood tests but am fairly sure it was just acid.
