Tired of no #2

Has anybody tried adding Fiber to their food/shakes? I am 5 weeks post op, approved for all foods, but dont really have room for high fiber foods after getting the Protein in.

I would prefer a premptive approach rather than a reactive one as I am worried about treatments "kicking in" during inopertune times like meetings, driving etc.

Metamucil Fiber pills

My doctor recommends Benefiber, you put it in your water. Others use Milk of Magnesia or Dulcalax. Ask your doctor. Mine says to never go more than 4 days without a bowel movement. You can get impacted which is very painful.

Half of a large Wendy's chili 2-3 times a week. 125 cal, 11 carb, 11 protein and enough fiber to keep me going.

Ok, I have mentioned this a few times in a few posts.. smooth move tea is all you need. Seriously, it works!

I hope its not anything like "dieters tea". I had a very tramatic experience with that tea. Lol

No I don't think so... I tried it the other night and the issue was resolved:)

Magnesium citrate capleta in the supplements aisle.

You can buy it as a liquid, but you might get unpredictable BMs at first. With the tablets, you are both supplementing magnesium (very important) as well as taking in an element known for softening stools. I restarted my Mg supps after I went 8 days post op without a BM and 12 hours later things started moving again.
