Tomorrow and Thanksgiving

Recommended Posts

Sooooo tomorrow is the big day! Nervous and excited. Reading the good the bad and the ugly from this site....I really appreciate everyone who participates because no one in my family understands, and I only know two people who have had it done. Anyway, I plan to track my progress weekly so I don't feel too down over the holidays about my new situation. Anyone planning to get sleeved soon or has been recently sleeved and thinking about the holidays? Normally i'd just work, but i'll be off, so i'm thinking of signing up to volunteer somewhere....maybe the senior center or homeless shelter? Any ideas appreciated and i'd like to hear what others are doing while the family stuffs their faces!

My surgery is tomorrow as well I'm having mixed emotions lol, mine is a revision, I had the lapband in 2011 and I'm getting revised to the sleeve. I try not to worry to much about the holidays, as I plan to make a dish for the holiday, I'll be making like a broccoli/cheddar Soup, or something soft that I can enjoy the day of. Congrats on the surgery and best of luck to you tomorrow.

Hi I am in the UK but have an American mummy friend and we are doing a mummy and kids meal. I will be my 1st real test. I am 1 week post op tomorrow so will be 5 weeks by then so my plan is to make some kind of Soup for myself. Should be on soft diet by then so maybe able to have a taste of something mashed up. Plus they don't know about my surgery but think I've had a hernia repair, which I did have at the same time. Good luck with your op xxx

How did everyone's surgery go?

Unfortunately mine didn't go as planned. I was doing a revision and they were only able to remove my lapband, I have to go back on Jan 3 to get the sleeve put in. I'm discouraged and upset, I was mentally prepared for the sleeve and now I'm afraid without my band I'm going to gain weight over the next 2 months especially with the holidays around. Plus the pain from my band is pretty bad and I'll have to go through it all Over again right when I completely heal

Hi there! Mine went well, my biggest complaint is the neck and shoulder pain from the laprascopy! Stomach is sore but not too bad, not really nauseous either, it's just this neck/shoulder pain-nothing really relieves it. I've done heat, cold, pain meds, walking and it only relieves it briefly. This too shall pass....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
