So I have been off track on my preop diet and have an apt with the nut in a week. Any ideas on how to lose 3-5 lbs by Wednesday ? I know not ideal but just bed to get past this apt. Thanks

There isn't really a way to "cheat" the pre-op diet. It's designed the way it is for a reason...and part of that reason is to get yourself ready for what follows surgery. Following directions is going to become critical, so I'd get your mind in a place where you're able to do that, sooner rather than later. You aren't going to lose any more weight than you will just by following that pre-op diet, short of starving yourself, so just get on the stick and follow it to the letter.

Sorry I shouldn't have said preop. I am just on my 4th out of 6 nut visits and haven't done well this month and wanted to try to lose a few before my apt Wednesday. Some have recommended a liquid diet but I thought I would check here. I understand I need to get on the "stick" but just wanted to get past this apt.

I would just go to your appointment and own up to what you have done. And then I would examine why you haven't done well over the past month and think about what that means to your overall journey. The biggest part of this journey is mental, and the pre-op six-month diet is just as much about beginning to re-establish your relationship with food as it is losing weight.

If you don't work on your relationship with food, the entire journey will be an even bigger struggle than it already is -- surgery or not.

Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
