Looking for January 2017 sleevers

I had mine 1/12. Starting to add mushy. But my body doesn't want it yet.

Oh, I know that feeling all too well. Up all night, while so many are constipated I'm the extreme opposite. Today I am on liquid, Protein shake (struggled to have), broth, coconut Water, chamomile tea. I don't even want to see food (cottage cheese, I tried 3 shrimp on Sunday, and some ground turkey mixed with guac yesterday. I know I need a lot of hydration today, and don't even want that.

I'm on day 5, and should be advancing to full liquids, but my sleeve's not having it. It will take the Protein shake, but no cottage cheese or yogurt. Unfortunately, Protein supplements are verboten with my docs. I feel guilty ignoring their advice to drink them, but am very worried about not getting enough calories, protein, and Vitamins. I'm barely breaking 400 calories today, and that's twice as much as yesterday. I've had maybe 700 calories total since Friday, and that's just not enough to heal or be alert. I am doing well with the Water, though.

Any ideas?

@@bookpusher I would use supplementation but keep trying with the other options. Try pureeing even foods that already seem fairly loose (like cottage cheese). I've never heard of not supplementing for at least the beginning. My doctor wants me on stage 3 but I can't tolerate it so I eat something and see how it goes and sometimes I can keep it down. As soon as I hit something that makes me throw up again I dial back to stage 2 for at least a day and then continue. It's a journey.

How is everyone doing? There are a lot of people on this thread and January is over so we should all have had our surgery by now! I want to hear how you're all advancing - how much you've lost or not lost, what the hardest part has been for you so far, how the surgery went and any new learnings!

Let's hear it, Team January 2017!!!

Hi! Sleeved 1/12/17. Finishing first week purée phase, 2 more to go. So far yogurt, made crockpot beef stew (just meat, onions and carrots), tried ricotta bake recipe, Protein pudding, and Panera turkey chili (a cup as take out, purée'd very nice - split into two meals). Not huge amounts, but tolerating well so far. Still 2 - 3 Protein Drinks. Struggle to get enough Water - it's a journey! [emoji2]

Sleeved 1/10/17 and like you struggled with Water, until Monday. Weird how quickly we go thru changes. Today I downed water with no problems, two days ago I was carrying on to a friend about how I could not drink. Yesterday managed to drink more, and today has been a "fairly" good day. I still can't do 64 oz like we are supposed to. It felt good to get food in the belly too. I think at some point our stomach really just wants food. :) Not like I can get more than 1 oz of meat or chicken at one sitting either.

I'm doing okay. Getting in all my liquids, though sometimes I'm drinking a mug of chicken broth for dinner. One of my incisions is still bleeding, 13 days out. But the doc's not worried about it. I don't really feel ready to go back to work on Monday, though!

Ginsin007 - so right about how quickly things change - I'm 3 weeks post op and I'm doing better with drinking water!! Not 64 oz, but getting there when counting other fluids. Every day is a new day !!!

ikr? I was like WOW! I lost 18lbs the first 4 weeks total and I was ready to be jealous until I realized he was a he;) My weight loss seems to crawl for a week or two and then 3 or 4 pounds drop off at once. It's frustrating in the short term but as long as it's consistent over time, I'll take it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
