Trying not to stress.

I had my pre-op yesterday and it was all systems go for December. Today they tell me they must drop me as a client because I have Medicare as a secondary insurance carrier.

Has anyone else run into this?

What did it take to get into another program/surgeon?

Pre-op, 61 YRS, 5'5"

HW 247, CW 223, BMI 37

I am so sorry! Medicare covers Bariatric surgery so I'm thinking you meet all criteria but your surgeon won't deal with Medicare. That is just wrong! Don't let this stop you! It's your life and your health. All I did was make a call and attend a seminar. There they determined if our insurance would cover expenses. Not everyone's did. Medicare does cover Bariatric surgery. Even if you are in the 35-40 BMI range with a co-morbidity. Don't give up!
