My journey began in April 2016

  • Popular Post

I met with my surgeon in April and had my RNY on Sept 27, 2016. Yesterday made 3 wks post-op! I'm so thrilled that I had the surgery. I have tough days dealing with nausea and fatigue. I'm so thankful I haven't vomited one though! Here's my progress:

May: 264

Day of surgery: 240

Today: 218

Not sure if the pics are attached or not. But I feel great and can't wait to keep going with my journey!

You are doing absolutely amazing!!! Looking awesome! May I asked what made you choose RNY? Just trying to get an idea of both sides of the RNY or Sleeve patients for my own personal use. Good luck and keep up the GREAT work!!

I had a lap band in 2008 and had many issues with it. I met w/ my surgeon to discuss options. Having gained the weight back I had lost 8 yrs prior, I wanted to be sure I didn't do it again. I chose RNY because of the dumping syndrome. It may sound crazy to some. But I wanted to always have that in my mind to keep me on track and avoiding the fatty or sweet foods. I knew with the sleeve that it would be much easier to fall back into old habits & I want this change to be for life. Also, I knew I'd lose more w/ the RNY. I have MS and 3 herniated discs and getting the weight off is crucial to my mobility and health.
