Water for warm/hot days with occasional iced tea and herbal teas for cooler/colder days. I can't drink Water when it's cold. I have also started drinking one cup of non fat Fairlife milk steamed with ginger and tumeric powder to ward off colds first thing in the morning. I have three to four cups of coffee every week with Fairlife milk and stevia.

I love making fruit infused Water especially watermelon. It's healthy, it's zero calories and carbs but you get that wonderful taste. There are a lot of recipes on the net. I used to buy it but it got expensive so I bought a fruit infuser water bottle. I've always been sketchy about anything with artificial sweeteners so I never went that route. I've read too many scientific studies concerning sucralose and microflora.

Another favorite drink is homemade milk kefir with berries blended in it... But that's not for hydration purposes but for daily Probiotics.

Ooh that sounds yummy! I have a time stamp infuser bottle so I will definitely try watermelon! Are there any other fruits everyone loves in their water?

@@rolosmom7 Lots of great recipes on the net :D Just look for fruit infused Water recipes. There are plenty of simple and fancy recipes. I got my fruit infuser water bottle on Amazon. At the time there were only 1 or 2 but now there are tons of good ones!

Yes, I've got a great one - I tried cucumber, grapefruit, and mint. It tastes horrid haha. I'm not sure where it went wrong, that combo is everywhere.

@@rolosmom7 ah hehehehe... Yeah, I haven't tried mixtures. I just usually use watermelon, lemons, green apple or strawberries. I should try a mixture though. Someday :D

I also like Vitamin Water Zero, lemonade flavor. I use Mio ( not the ones with caffeine) drops occasionally, Crystal Light, flavored waters, black tea and occasionally Chai latte in the Keurig. I will drink plain Water but it is unappealing. Aside from Hot drinks like tea, all my liquids seem to be most palatable to me at room temp., weird huh?

Just like @@Sai, I am not a fan of the artificial sweetened products. I went cold turkey on all artificial sweeteners back in March and let me tell you, it was NOT fun-four days of headaches and feeling awful.

Today, my bottle of water has fresh lemon slices and frozen Triple berry Blend-Blackberries, Raspberries and Blueberries. I don't bother with the infuser bottle, I just dump everything in and drink (and eat) it all. I make up two 32 oz bottles at night and leave them to infuse for the next day.

This will change though-my revision surgery is on Tuesday.

I've already loaded up my freezer with peaches and tart cherries since both have been approved by my dietitian for adding to my water.

You all are so well behaved. My truth... I never gave up the Mt. Dew. Reg, not diet. It sometimes takes me days to finish one 20oz. I also drink coffee pretty much all day. If i go out, i normally drink wine or a margarita on the rocks.

Funny thing.... my card reader (ms Audrey) said... you need to drink more Water.... lol She is right.

@@Alex Brecher What do you drink?

I am 3 years out and typically don't have any problems getting in my fluids with plain Water. However, during my losing phase (and currently) I drank flavored water (Mio or store brands) and diet Snapple.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
