Still relying on liquid

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery about a month ago, and while I've been eating some puréed foods, I still rely on liquids, both for Protein and for convenience. I can start soft mechanical foods later this week. Right now I can get down about 1/4 cup of pureed food, and I do that for either one or two meals a day.

Should I postpone soft foods until I I'm relying more on purees?

I intend to ask my surgeon's dietician this week, but I wanted to see what others' experience has been.

I am almost a month out and I am eating more. Soft, very well chewed foods, but I am a little worried that I can eat so much more than you. I am losing nicely and ensuring what I do eat is high in Protein. I can eat 3 oz of shrimp (well chewed of course). I feel like I am doing great, but kind of wish that I was taking it slower and able to eat only smaller portions like you. I may try to back track a bit. So anyway, my advice is don't push it if you don't feel that you have to.

But heck, what do I know! :)

I am 3.5 mths out and still have 1 Protein Shake a day because I can't eat enough solid food to meet Protein goals. And it is ok. It is ok for you to do what works for you. Healing is different for everyone, our sleeves are all different, so our consumption is different.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
