I'm a week out, had surgery on 9/30. I'm reading a lot of posts and I feel like my diet is different then a lot on here. I feel like I'm not doing this right. I'm depressed, I'm tired, I'm sore and so confused. I do however find relief in most the posts, so thank you...

You'll do great it's a big adjustment . I had mine the day before you . I'm pretty sure all the doctors seem to do a different eating plan but I'm sure they all know what they are doing. Just follow your plan . I'm so tired too but it won't last long. I'm very hopeful and happy . I wish you well !

I completely understand @@LykaCory ... my surgery was 9/29 and yesterday I felt like I'd been hit by a train. I could barely get out of bed, I was crabby, one of my incisions is killing me and I'm sick of not eating and sick of feeling sick. Today was a little better - hopefully tomorrow will be better for you! What is on your diet? I am on full liquids but think that I'm struggling in part because my calories are still so low. Hang in there - tomorrow is a new day!!

My surgery was also on 9/30 and I feel the same. I had a break down today and just cried and cried and then crying made my stomach hurt more. That is when I downloaded this app to try and find some kind of comfort. What is your diet plan right now?

Oh okay, I would die for some mash, or oatmeal. They told me not to do those until 3 weeks post op. Right now they said to do sugarfree Popsicles, sugar free pudding, sugarfree Jello, Protein drinks of course, fat free yogurt, cottage cheese, diluted juices, fat free refried Beans, and egg whites. Maybe you can add one of these to give you more of a variety. I do 1oz-2oz every two hours. I don't know how to explain it but my body feels like it just needs really food you know.

The first few weeks after surgery can be really tough. Physically thr body is healing from major surgery. Emotionally a person is dealing with ramifications of the surgery and new frustrations. I don't know if it happens for everyone but I also dealt with the hormone dump for a little while after surgery. Drove me crazy!

It does get easier. Easier to get in the fluids and Protein. Easier to deal with the changes. All the best!

Always, always do what your program dictates. They are the ones taking care of you, and are familiar with your individual case. There are SOOOO many different plans. The only one you need to follow is yours. It's dangerous to make changes based on someone else's plan. Trust your doctor and you'll be okay. Best wishes to you!

I had my surgery on 9/26, my Dr does baby steps, first wee hydration I felt really tired so I started on protien shake, at 2oz at a time and fat free milk, helped get my strength

Second soft, start whip yogurt, pudding, next week will be starting to introduce mushy food, protien, and veggies blended. srcrambled eggs, . Every program is different, so I think it is what you can tolerate.

Good luck on your new you

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
