@@fhay most doctors want you to be birth control free (hormonal birth control) for at least one month prior to surgery and one month after due to the increase risk for blood clots. After that it's your choice on which has been most effective for you. I personally use the Nuvaring and have no complaints!

    I was taking the pill literally the morning of surgery. Post op I've switched to a Depo shot once every 3 months.

    I have the implant in my arm (nexolanon) and I had it 3 years before surgery. I love it pre op and post op!
