What is a Z Line?

Aparently it is the line where your esophagus meets the stomach

My band was placed in July 2010 and now I'm in the process of revising to VSG. I wish you all the luck in the world in your process. I had limited success with the band and am looking forward to being able to swallow food without getting pressure in the back of my throat.

Good luck to you as well. We got this is all I can keep saying. Since I have felt like a failure for the last 3 years up until about 2 months ago that is.

Shrinking Meme...I was just coming back to see if you got any answers. I'm sorry you're going through this.

We're still waiting on some answers for me. They didn't see evidence of GERD in the esophogus or a hernia, but my duodenum and pyloric valve was very swollen, irritated, and red. They did a biopsy and we are awaiting the results. They suspect that I have an H. Pylori infection. I did two weeks of Prilosec and am feeling a bit better, but I'm being super careful and am primarily still on liquids.

Grammy, I'm glad your Lap Band has worked for you. Mine wasn't giving me any trouble until recently and I had my surgery 8 years ago. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for a lot of people for various reasons. The UNC Bariatric team that I go to will no longer perform Lap Bands due to all of the complications they've dealt with. So, now my options are VSG or bypass. I haven't fully decided, but the VSG scares me much less than the bypass. We all have to do what works for us.

Thank you for all the replies and good luck wishes. I am wishing all of you the best of luck too!

Well said Carrie! I'll be sending good vibes your way. I was told today to expect up to a 3 day hospital stay, I'm hoping for a 1 day stay and kicked loose. Please keep us informed. The sleeve only made my feed worse and now I have Barret's Esophugus. I wish I would've just had the bypass from the beginning. It's a learning the hard way type of experience

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
