I have MS and my surgery date is Oct. 3rd. My doc said I should be good to go since neuro cleared me. I'm on tons of nerve meds but he said those will be fine too. Both of you CONGRATS and Good Luck With Your Surgery :)

I'm having B12 injections, much easier for me & less often so winner winner lol. Just a jab at the docs every 3 months. I take Vitamin d daily & a multi Vitamin, but nothing else. I took a few months off post surgery, but that's because I had surgery then 6 weeks later I had Lemtrada 2nd year dose, and my job is very physical with some heavy lifting. Then the week before I was due back, I tripped over while out walking & fractured both wrists

oh wow OK...you are very physical, fatigue isn't an issue then it seems...I have a desk job so I'm guessing a couple weeks should suffice after surgery...

I am lucky I live at home with my parents, my mum does all my washing of clothes, ironing them etc, does all my cooking, so I can come home and flop on the couch and not move lol. Fatigue was shocking the first year or two, I am better with that symptom now, and just know that I probably won't be doing much on my days off.

I know I'm bringing back a "dead" thread, but I have MS and I'm set for surgery on May 3rd. My neuro cleared me, but I only just found out that wls can actually aggravate MS and bring on a flare. I had no clue. Now I'm really nervous about the surgery. I wasn't until I read the articles online this morning. I was hoping that having the sleeve would present far less issues with taking my pills (I'm on Tecfidera, Baclofen, Celebrex, and Gabapentin) but then I read about people who had a harder time with the nausea and keeping anythng down and struggling with their pills. I think I'm in a bit of a panic now. Hoping there's others on here with MS and wls that can gie me their honest opinions and experiences.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
