TheGh0st's Extended Tummy Tuck w/Lipo

Thanks Paula. You make me blush!

I know I've been whining on a bit about the swelling and such but yes I am extremely pleased with the results and would highly reccomend my surgeon. Not only is he an all around excellent PS surgeon but he reputed to have done hundreds of PS's on patients with the band and is fully aware of some of the special issues we face as PS patients.

...Now if only the scale would reflect some of what I see in the mirror... But there I go again. Sometimes I think I need someone to sit next to me and constantly slap me upside the head everytime I start down that path.

I am having some of the same issues, with only 2 more pounds to lose. ha, I really should declare that I have 10 more to lose, then I might try harder.

But, this too shall pass and you and I will declare goal, and then we can declare a triumph and focus our energies on something else healthy and worthwhile.

hugs my dear.

looking forward to MY TT late 08 or early 09.

Hi everyone

This post is inspiring me to think ahead....I am still a long way away from my tummytuck. Congratulations to you all who have done so well.

I have a question which I hope someone may be able to answer.

I have developed a hernia (inguinal) which may need to be operated on if it worsens. Its a nuisance at the moment but no worse than that. Does anyone know if a hernia repair is the same thing as the muscle repair which often accompanies a Tummy Tuck or is that something different. Can I combine my hernia repair with my tummy tuck I wonder?

Ellen

Sorry Ellen I don't know. But if no one else has any ideas I can always ask my doc next Friday when I have my follow up appointment.

Kimberly - Thanks I needed that :)

My friend B had a hernia repair along with her tummy tuck.. it saved her some money, since the hernia was covered under insurance as was the hospital and anesthesia..... but the actual tt was not.

I will post an update eventually. Honestly.

My PS's mother passed away recently and my follow up appointments have been justifyably postponed while he was taking care of her through her illness and now funeral.

I ought to just see if I can't get my neighbor to take some updated photos. She had a TT herself a few years ago and took my 24 hour post op photos.

I'll see what I can do.

Diane,

Just read all the posts and you look great. I too am 5.2 1/2 and we could be body doubles. Except for the breasts, I had a reduction 10 years ago. I have around 35-40 more to loose. I think after reading all these I may be obsessed now with wanting to look as good as you. It may be time for me to have a consulation with PS.

Congrats on your progress.

Diane - I have a question for you. I know you were big on messaging the scar. My PS recommended that as well. I started doing it last night and this morning, Several times I felt of small bump im my scar and when I messaged it, felt a small little pop. I almost feels like I broke the scar tissue up because it doesn't hurt and the scar is not as raise afterwords. Diid you ever experience this?

I'm not sure if I remember any "popping" so to speak but if I would stop for a couple days I could tell the scar tissue was starting to take hold then when I'd rub it again it I definitely noticed a reduction in the scar tissue. Now what 5 months out? The entire incision line is still discolored but my right side has no discernable scar tissue and my left side has only minimal scar tissue. I think the difference is due to my being right handed and massaging my right side more effectively as well as how I lay at night causing more stress on my left side.

:confused:I was wondering how you are doing now that it's been a few months? Happy with all results? Would you do anything differently? Any advice for others considering PS?

How is your shoulder? Been rubbing the arms lately? Sounds like your scar is doing very well from Plastics? Hope all is great with you!

I ditto what Maizemommy said, Dianne. You're one of our PS experts, and we want/need/enjoy reading your input. :sneaky: You've been quiet too long. How's everything going?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
