My date is March 27th and I get more anxious the closer I get to the date. I know I'm doing it for the right reasons but I've never had surgery before and that scares me. I have my preop appt on the 9th and they'll do blood tests and an EKG. Then I'll meet with the Nut. I have a whole list of questions that I plan to ask the surgeon and the nutritionist.

Hi, my cat's name is Phoenix...LOL I feel the same way, I never had any surgery and I am really scared. I'm having gastric bypass in early April and I cant even think of what I should ask the surgeon.

Here are some of my questions. I will see him next and will post the answers to these as well as any other questions I think of between now and then.

Bariatric Advantage Vitamins (1 pill,4x a day)

When should I start birth control

How long before I can work out? Weight training? Kick boxing or Strength Training? Can I do Rugged Maniac in May or November?

Is the Keto diet a good plan to follow after surgery ( High Protein, High fat) or should I stick to high, lean protein and good fats only in moderation?

Can we have lemon/lime juice (Fresh)and when? *For teas and to flavor water*

Can I use Proteu Water (Lift) instead of propel?

Is it possible to have a binder for recovery?

My goodness.. They're already scheduling first week of July?! My test review appointment is on April 24th. So I can only imagine what my surgery date would be.. probably september.. that's a long time from now. 😩

Im sure it won't be that bad for you. Right now they are working with one surgeon. The new one starts in June. Im thinking that if they had 2 surgeons right now my surgery wouldnt be that far out.

Surgery will hopefully be in June, but I'm struggling to quit smoking. Gonna try cold turkey tomorrow. I've tried Chantix, Patches, gum, Wellbutrin, and everything else including hypnosis. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
