I had my gallbladder out at 6 months. I had more trouble recouperating from that surgery than the lap band itself. I am doing great now. 120 pounds lost and only 2 pounds to goal.

Since I told my doctor that I have had gall bladder issues in the past, he is removing it sometime this month. He does not do the gall bladder surgery at the same time as lapband. There are conflicting opinions if they should be done together. That would be nice, but since my doctor doesn't do it that way, I have to get my gall bladder out soon.

I was banded June 1st and had to have my gall bladder out on September 7th. I was kind of mad at the doctor because I asked him to look at my gall bladder when he did the first surgery. By the time Setember came around I ended up in the E.R. because of the gall bladder. I can't see how it would have gotten so bad in a couple months, it had to have been bad before.

I am feeling great without my gall bladder! I had it done t the same time and was very glad. I had alot of stones in mine so I am assuming that is why they took it out after looking at it during the lap band procedure!!

Yes, I had my lapband surgery on 8/27/07. Lost 51 lbs. in 5 weeks. Then I had my first gallbladder attack and my lap surgeon had to remove my gallbladder on 10/1/07. Two major surgeries in 5 weeks. I am almost healed and ready to roll and not even two weeks out from the gallbladder surgery. Definitely Sucks! But now things are looking better! Rapid Weight Loss was the cause but doc said I would have lost it 6 months down the road anyway.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
