Before I get my surgery, I would really love to know...

Hello,

I am really excited to finally finish all these appointments, and excited to finally meet my surgeon. Now these questions may have or may have not appeared on this forum. You see I am a musician, well vocalist to an up and coming heavy metal band. Now, for those of you who know know that us vocalists have to use our diaphragm, and it takes up some energy to be either singing on stage or while recording vocal tracks. I wanted to know how long does it take after surgery for one to go back to singing? Are there any techniques that one should do to fasten up the pace? and will I be losing a lot of energy to the point where I'll feel weak on stage? Please I hope someone can answer this because I am really excited to get it done, but my family, my closest friends, and my band mates are asking me if there will be changes with my vocal ranges? if there will be a big noteable change?
