Yes im still swimming!

I cut it back some as i mix in running and cycling now to

Typical day: 30 min run..20 min cycle...20 min swim.

Sometimes ill still just take a day and swim for an hour.

I lift weights too but im increasing cardio more right now. Figure i can make my muscles bigger when im down to a lower weight. I just do weights about once or twice a week to maintain them.

Everyone is doing so great! Congratulations!!!!

I made it to Onederland this morning. I am so happy about this!!! I still have a long way to go before I reach goal, and I am sure that the second half will not move along as quickly as the first, but reaching the halfway point is making me feel that the end is in sight.

Congrats Frangipini!! I hope to be right behind you. We had our First Aid Squad dinner last night. Now I can focus on my weight loss. I am going to be near perfect for 2 weeks to see if I need another fill. I ate to fast yesterday and had terrible pain for the first time so maybe I don't need one.

Thanks PigsRFlying and LadyBugRed!!!

PigsRFlying, my workout currently consists of one hour of cardio. When I am out of town and working out at a hotel, I run on the treadmill, and/or do the eliptical machine, stairmaster, bike -- or whatever happens to be handy.

My outdoor workout for now is a brisk walk that incorporates several steep hills. I try to keep my heart rate in the 140 - 150 bpm range, and adjust my pace accordingly to maintain this.

Eventually I will start running outdoors, but I feel that at my current weight it would be too hard on my joints to run on hard pavement. I plan to start running regularly after I lose another 30 pounds or so.

Beginning this week I hope to start lifting weights twice a week and doing yoga at the gym on Wednesdays.

Frangi, good for you. Your hard work is paying off. You and Salsa are becoming my exercise role models. Walking has served me well so far but I want to start doing some harder workouts now that I've lost quite a bit of weight. I dream of being able to run, but don't know if that makes sense at my age. Maybe on a treadmill.

What an inspiring bunch! Fran, congrats on getting to ONEderland! I'm 24 lbs behind you, so I should be there by Spring, if all goes well!

I totally surprised myself and am down 3 lbs this week, so I'm 4 lbs from the 210's (my January goal). Thing is, I need to get my mind back in the right place and stop pushing the envelope with portions. I'm choosing the right stuff most of the time, but not stopping till my belly actually hurts. NOT good! I decided I have to get back to the basic bandster diet from my clinic and see if I can get it back under control (3-4 oz lean Protein with a LITTLE bit of veg or fruit for main meal, milk for snacks).

I finally get how people get into the habit of adjusting to try and control their bingeing instead of dealing with the habit (and eventually have slips or erosions). It's really tempting to go in and get my band super-tight, even though I'm not really hungry.

A morale boost would be a big help right now, guys!

On a non-weightloss note, I have a line on a really nice job in San Diego. Part of me is thrilled at the idea of a new adventure in California (I've thought a lot about living there), but another part of me is scared about leaving family and friends behind, even if it's just for a couple years. I've gone over it with my therapist and she thinks it would really good for me, getting a fresh start, trying something new, etc. After all, if we really do only go around once, wouldn't it be worth having the experience?

What a roller coaster 2008 has been for me so far!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
