28 days away from surgery

I would get samples of different Protein powders. I know that some of the bariatric supply stores on line will send you samples--some free and some charging shipping and handling.

I know that GNC has sample size portions of their Quest Protein powders for about two dollars a pouch---the brand I use .

There are sooo many to choose from. Keep in mind, though that your tastes may change after WLS. What you like pre-op you may not like post-op. I would suggest not stocking up to too many of one brand.

Your bariatric team should recommend what Vitamins you need to take. I am five years out, so I use Vitamins from CVS. Check with you surgeon's office for recommendations.

Best of luck on your WLS journey. I hope it will be a joyous one. :)

I'm not a Walmart personal all but I know they carry alot of pre and post op products. After getting my chest xray at Elite I decided to go into the Walmart next door. I emerged 2 hours later and $200 short. I read every label. I stocked up on many Protein powders, ready-to drink Proteins, even singles to see which ones I like; powdered crystal light and snapples, I stocked up on broths, sugar free syrups for flavor, Protein clear drinks, Vitamin drinks. I found it easier to shop there then say Vitamin Shoppe or GNC where it can be overwhelming and sales clerk single you out.

I agree: Premier Protein shakes give more grams of Protein per shake than any other brand. 30. Flavors: chocolate, vanilla, strawberries and cream, and my new favorite : bananas and cream. Cases were on sale at Sam's these last several weeks. Vitamins; I use optisource Bariatric chewables, 4/day, 2 in am, 2 in pm. One bottle of 120 lasts a month. Have it set up thru Amazon to automatically send me a bottle once a month. $18.18 each. I don't need any supplements at all with this brand. They are complete.

Imo unjury tastes the best, and the unflavored can be sprinkled on almost anything, but I got a couple of cases of premixed Premier Protein. It's just so convenient not to have to shake up something when you pretty much feel like crap.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
