Okay...so we all know that our mind is the real beast to tame during this process. I find myself essentially eating the same foods week after week. I do this because right now i am focusing on my mental changes and i can cook new things at any time. I figure we have a"honeymoon period" for a reasona nd I am using it to my fullest capacity. My clothes are getting to big and i had to cut my hair off because it is falling out! I just took a new side by side because i dont see anything when i look in the mirror and that is totally discouraging! Some days i am frustrated that i can only eat 1/2 cup of food and some days i dont care if i eat at all. I have been riding this rollercoaster for more than 30 years and i continue to ride now. I want you all to know that you can do this...you are strong enough...you are worth it! As i say goodbye to 70 pounds at the 4.5 month mark....i say....

Here is to 2017...lets make it great!!!

I live in Council Bluffs, but had my surgery in Omaha.

Where do I belong?

You are most welcome our fellow Iowan. When was your surgery? How are you doing?

I had my surgery 12/22. After reading through some other posts I find myself extremely fortunate. I didn't experience any nausea other than when in the anesthesia induced stupor when they were moving me from one bed to the other between surgery and my room and no uncontrollable pain. I have taken very little pain meds since I've been home.

I have found if I don't eat on schedule I'll dry heave, not a pleasant experience.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
