Has anyone gone from losing weight to become someone new and wants a new life? For example working retail then going to school or going to school to be a nurse but became a fitness instructor? I have not had my surgery and I'm in school but I'm not sure if im really into it. I have a child and want to be able to afford for us but I feel like im stuck bc I am obese and can't get new beginnings bc people judge me all I can do is go to school. So I guess I'm really asking is after gastric bypass does it open more doors for careers?

I think having surgery and losing a lot of weight has a many-faceted effect on our lives in terms of changing them and opening doors. Not only do you become much healthier, but taking an entire person or more worth of weight of your body can do wonders for your energy and pain levels. But there's more than that - you get your life and control back. You start seeing yourself as a person who is worth every bit of effort and love you put into yourself. Most people I've seen stop accepting their lives as they settled for them previously, and start actually living and enjoying life. If that means a career change, so be it! I'm going back to school and finishing my degree finally, and I'm absolutely thrilled. Less than two years ago, I was ready to give up and accept my life - however short it would have been without surgery- the way it was, and just wait for death. Now I truly want to live and love my life, and that means finishing my degree and becoming a professional artist and photographer! I hope you have the same wonderful results. I hope every person has a chance to experience such hope and excitement for the future. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
