On the "table" you will wear only a surgical drape. Period.

Yeah, no, you're nekkid. I tried keeping my undies and the pre-op nurse was like "Oh no, those come off, too" and I was like "but whhhhyyyy" xD

Not with my surgeon in Mexico ;-) I guess they didn't want to deal with any comparisons. ;-) (yes I am just kidding)

I wondered the same thing, lol and I brought jammies and stuff with me for later but never used them at all so do yourself a favor and just bring what you are wearing and maybe one other pair of undies for the next day

This was a fair question. The only stupid question is the one that was never asked.

Wear a simple pair of panties and leave the crotchless, leather one at home.

The only way you can keep undies on is if

you have period. And that too disposable ones

Haha I was actually wondering about this too. I think I'm gonna try and sneak on some undies and see what they say. I might be unconscious so they might even take them from me? Who knows!

If they have to access the area, they'd have to take the time to cut it off. It's best for you if there aren't any unnecessary surgical delays.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
