My BMI is 35 & the 1st plave I called (barix clinic) they said bc Im on the lower end of the bmi (35) I wouldnt have to do the 6 month appts with the dietician & etc so Im curious what your BMI is.

Thanks

Somehow I gained 6 pounds since Wednesday. I'm finding it harder to lose after surgery than before.

Three weeks post op and I'm down 11 pounds. My surgeon said i should lose over 100 in 6 months so I'm off that pace. I may have been pushing what I can eat. Decided to have a piece of chicken. No issues eating or digesting it but I hope I don't regret trying it too early.

@@sgc sorry to hear that keep hanging in there. I know that feeling pre op. How's your activity level? Are you at 30 min daily? I'm still on liquids advance into purees on Fri.

I have tried other foods and tolerated it well but I really want to stick to the plan.

It's easy to fall back into old habits although we can't eat as much so I'm hoping that's not an issue for you. Nothing is stopping us from making poor choices but us.

I hope things turn around for you. Increase your fluids, Protein and activity and talk to your team they will help you get over this hump.

Hey Everyone!

Looking for some advice. I'm tentatively scheduled to have surgery mid September. We have a busy season upcoming at work from September-November where it's not ideal to take off of work. I was set on still having the surgery until I was assigned a new account..now I'm torn.

I really don't want to delay my surgery until Nov because the weather will change and I wanted to take advantage of being able to walk outside. Plus it will be close to the holidays recovering and the possibility of putting on even more weight.

On the other hand I feel a bit bad for being out during this time. I would probably only take 4 weeks off ( dr gives 6). However this would put me out until the end of October.

Anyone dealt with this? My husband is saying I shouldn't put my job before my health and to do what's best for me.

Advice appreciated!

I agree with your husband 100%. Get the surgery when you want it, not when your work dictates it. You have to look after and take care of yourself.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
