Feeling alone[emoji17][emoji17]

Recommended Posts

I just had my RNY on Monday (06/06/16), I have been fighting with my parents a lot since I got home from the hospital. My boyfriend and best friend were in the hospital with me and all saw everything I had to go through but they don't really understand it.

I feel so alone going through this phase. I've always been a busy girl, so the fact that I can't go to work, can't drive, and can't do much of anything I'm getting angry at literally everyone and everything.

I know I have people to back me up and support me, but no understands this feeling in going through of just anger. I don't regret my choice whatsoever because I know in the long run, it was worth it, I'm just so lonely with all of this.

If anyone else had this feeling please let me know how you got through it.

With love❤️❤️

You are not alone--you have us. And you should start going to a support group to be with others who have gone through this. That really helps.

Your very emotional right now. Hormones are all wacky. Your loved ones don't need to go through WLS to be supportive. Give them a chance - and remember that you aren't yourself right now. You'll feel better soon.

Hang in there! As others have wisely pointed out, this may not be your finest hour, but it is the gateway to a happier, healthier you.

Your body has endured a trauma and that will spill out. Emotions begin coming up that you don't foresee because of chemical and hormonal changes, not to mention your main coping (speaking for myself, was removed)-it necessitates new methods of dealing with life; which is new ground.

The avoidance of emotions is all but gone because like an alcoholic who becomes sober, you are truly alert and awake in a new way-that takes time, training and coaching. Support groups are a great place to learn those skills.

Sending you good thoughts!

Daniel

I've been on an emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes I cry for no reason. My Dr said it was normal, that I went through a major surgery, on narcotics and anaesthesia . Our families don't understand what we are going through right now. I'm almost 3 weeks post-op, my children are all grown, but I have my oldest and my youngest to help me through. Just talk to them, explain to them how you're feeling. You also have all of us here to listen and help you the best way we can. Hope this helps.

I had surgery the same day as you! I have felt like a basket case of emotions, too, so it's good to know I'm not alone. Sorry I'm not more of a help.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
