Week 5 post op....not lost since week 2

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering if anybody else is going thru this or have been thru it.

I had my op on 6th may 2016.....I dropped from 19 stone 2 pound to 17 stone 11 pounds in 2 weeks.......I'm now 18 stone and the weight isn't moving.....I fluctuate from 17.12 to 18.1......I paid privately for my surgery after selling my house, and I'm beginning to think that this has been a complete waste of money as have all the fad diets I've been on......am I just one of those people who just can't lose the weight??

a lot of people go through that exact same thing - around the same time and wonder if they will be the one person it doesn't work for.

so, just stick with your program, trust your body and it will move again. @@Babbs has posted an excellent explanation of this on other threads, and recently too if you want a more science-y explanation of the "why"

I had a stall right around the same time. My body adjusted and I'm back to losing for the past week or so. I was at 7 weeks yesterday. Just keep doing what you are doing!

I stalled after 1 week and losing 14

Pounds.. About to weigh myself today and I know I'll still be in the stall! Everyone goes through it, it's like the initiation stress test haha. You think you're the only one and you'll stay fat forever.. Just remember "this too shall pass"

I came on to post about the same thing and saw your post first. I had surgery 4/29. I'll be 6 weeks post-op tomorrow. Lost 35 pounds total and have been on a 2 week stall even though I increased my walking from 5,000 steps to 10,000-14,000 a day. I also increased my Protein and changed around my eating. Nothing is working! I was thinking just like you is this a waste. I'm too freaking out but will listen to everyone and pray this will pass and I will start losing again.

I feel like I could have written this...same deal here. Sleeved 5/23, lost 23 in two weeks....now crickets. I've read about this enough to know its all part of the game... soooo frustrating though. Every time I get on the scale I drop an "F" bomb, lol- its just beyond annoying...I cant wait to push through...

I wanted to reach out to you and see how you're doing--I too was sleeved on 5/23 and I am in a big stall. I lost weight better when I was pre-op! I know it's a whole different ballgame now, though. Hope you are well.

Remember you introduce your body to food again and it on a hold. It will start up again. Be patient

Ok I'm now at around 10weeks post op and finally it's starting to slowly come off again.....I'm now down to 17.4 from the initial 19.2.......I'm not weighing every day now either, I admit I weigh twice a week but I have my 2nd post op appointment with the surgeon next Wednesday. I'll be having my bloods tested too as feeling run down and tired, full of a summer cold I can't seem to shift either. Will keep you posted .... Thanks everybody xx

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
