I had my pre-op testing yesterday, and the anesthesiologist told me they give you a "cocktail" to relax you when you get there, hopefully yours will be the same

UGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS SUCKS!!!!!!

I had VSG done Wed. July 13th @@Kaiser Richmond and I have had so much pain from the anesthesia gas and I've been walking like crazy. Dilottit every hr, with zofran for nausea. Its worth it for sure, but it sure has been difficult to get this gas out of my chest. Plus it took me forever to go pee for the first time!!!!! Aweful. I feel a bit better today, possibly from all the walking. But its hard to drink since my throat Is sooooo sore from the breathing tube.

Sorry to sound like a whining baby, lol, I know it's what I signed up for, just wanted to tell everyone how my experience is.

I have also bought a stomach binder!

Can you post a link to the stomach brace/stomach binders you are talking about. Thanks.

I got this one, it gets good reviews, and feels sturdy yet comfortable when I tried It on. I just know that with my luck, I'll have to cough or sneeze like crazy after surgery, and I will need something to help it not hurt so bad.

Is this something that your doctor/hospital recommended getting or is it just from word of mouth?
The Nut recommended it in my class, but mostly from other bariatric patients recommendations

My surgery is July 26th. I am 2 days into my liquid diet. I have been so excited, but I am now starting to freak out. I'm a nervous person anyway, but now I am asking myself all of the questions and what ifs. I am terrified of the actual surgery and even more scared of making all the right decisions after. Any other worry warts out there and what are you doing?

Just got back from my first post op appointment. I'm down 24.5 pounds and got moved up to full liquids like Protein Shakes and such. In ten days (24th) I get to move up to purees! Also, got approved to start back swimming, gym cardio and aerobic classes! How is everyone doing today?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
