Mmmmm. I've never had in-n-out before

A food funeral is basically when you eat shit before the surgery. Well, maybe not shit, but stuff you won't be able to have after. A lot of people think that food funerals are bad, but I feel like they're good because you'll be less tempted to cheat

I haven't had surgery yet but I had some mini food funerals before my 6 month supervised weight loss started. I mindfully ate steak, bread and red wine one night, Pasta, bread and red wine another night and the next week had mexican food with lots of nachos and margaritas. I actually didn't eat much more than normal but I just knew that it was the last time I would be able to eat so much food at once. I said good-bye to eating like that forever (well almost forever) I will probably have one more "bad" meal between the end of my 6 month supervised weight loss and the start of my 2 week liquid diet. It helped me now that I am on my 6 month diet because I feel like I said goodbye to that stuff and now I am focused on eating healthy and low carb. So far it has helped me feel less tempted to cheat.

I think it's I'mportant to have a "I'll see you later" instead of a funeral... thinking about some of your old favorite foods as "This is goodbye I can't ever have this again" will be a really hard thing to overcome later on after surgery... I did go out for a last huge meal before my surgery diet began but I did it mindfully knowing I'll come back and have hibachi again.. it just won't be with such a huge portion ;) Now some people have to avoid tempting foods altogether to avoid slipping back to bad habits but for me at least.. I do intend to eat everything I once liked.. just with a lot more good food and in a lot more moderation :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
