Nerves are kicking in

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is the day, I have to call at 1 to find out what time I have to be there at. I'm so nervous, been second guessing myself on going through with it. I've come such a long journey so far with all the pre op stuff I know I can't quit.

I keep thinking about my kids if something goes wrong, being a single mom with only my mom who I take care of is around for them.

My dr has great stats, I've asked. No deaths, no one has had a leak. So I know I should be ok.

Maybe it's just my fear of a different life afterwards.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has had crazy thoughts.

Most people have anxiety prior to surgery. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow.

Oh yeah, sure, I was thinking kooky thoughts, getting awfully nervous and all, but now I'm 12 weeks post op and down within 8 lbs of my

goal weight and I can't believe what's happened here... it's been so dramatically life changing it's hard to put into words. I feel the best decisionel

re-born.

So yes, I was doing the same thing only now I think it was the best decision of my life

I'm two days post-op and I was thinking the same thing before my surgery. Honestly, I still have concerns like maybe I over corrected! I began the process back in July 2015 and I know I was prepared for it. I think my feelings now are just the fear of this new way of life. I've been battling my weight since I can remember and TBH, I just got used to the battle and was comfortable in that place. I'm prepared to do what needs to be done based solely on the faith that it has worked for and changed so many lives!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
