Week 3 and 4 food options

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 weeks post op, and on soft solid foods. I've been trying hard to follow the recommended food options, but need to branch out. Any suggestions? My post surgery booklet says I can eat soft baked fish now, but tuna doesn't come into play until week 5. Anyone know why that is? I would think tuna is a soft solid? Getting burnt out on Soups, mashed potatoes, and eggs. ;-) Recommendations appreciated!

tuna can be dry and hard process early on. Same with salmon and crab. A soft baked fish would be baked swai, cod, tilapia. You want to bake a white fish so it is soft and moist. I ate swai most of the time. It is affordable at Walmart.

Below is a recipe for it.

I was told to eat soft boiled eggs I don't even know what that is. I was told that scrambled eggs wasn't wet enough so I take one egg and 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese the small curds. And scramble it. One of my favorite things to eat besides Soup I have not ate any potatoes I know we're allowed them but it's a carb I just can't do it. I had my surgery April 20th. Yesterday I made a killer chili with a different kind of Beans all dried that I had to make myself and I used chorizo soy for the meat. Everyone loved it. It would be really good and eggs also. I do not eat seafood of any kind. We can also have thin deli meats. I have made homemade cauliflower Soup onion, soup Tomato Soup, and cabbage soup but I love soup only homemade soup.

My program allows tuna during soft food stage (starting week 3) however, I have tried it twice now and just 2 bites made me severely nauseous both times. Tilapia has given me no problems....but everybody is different. (I LOVE me a soft or medium boiled egg by the way)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
