Before I say anything I am gonna call my doctor in the morning but just curious if anyone had this happen ?

I was sleeved 3/30 and my largest incision ( to my left of my belly button) hasn't been healing on one side ... It'd scab and fall off and rescab ect. Well I finally had a good look at it and there's a STRING coming out of my incision. I thought they would have used dissolvable. And it's just now poking out.. It wasn't there a couple weeks ago. (It only popped out after my last scab fell off but it's still attached to it ) pic for clarity post-267180-14629339369937_thumb.jpg

It just needs to be snipped and pulled. Just give your doc a call.

I have had that happen with several of my surgeries, the last one being my gallbladder surgery. I normally get a hard little bump then it pops through. They are just going to have you come in, and they will pull on it, sometimes it will come out on it own, sometimes they will snip it. Then you will finish healing in a few days. Glad that you are found awesome otherwise!!!!

yes I've had this happen almost every time I have any surgery.....my theory is my body doesn't dissolve dissolvable stitches completely........The last time I was actually able to pull it out myself. You'll be fine and it will heal fine once it's gone.

Just let it fall out naturally. Don't pull or snip it.

Snip it, my dr has told me to do that before. I posted above it has happened with several of my surgeries. If you leave it like above said^^^ it could get infected. That is why they want you to use tweezers and hold it and clip it as close to the skin as possible. It might even just come out when you go to hold it with the tweezers.

I just cut mine out. No big deal. Just make sure you get it all out. Or contact your Doc.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
