Everything hurts!

Recommended Posts

I just came home from the hospital yesterday my surgery was on Wednesday. I am hurting everywhere. The day after surgery I was feeling great but the day I came home and today have been really rough. My hips and legs hurt so bad I'm in tears when I try to get up from sitting or walk. Anyone else have a similar experience? And if so, what did you do to ease some of the pain? I have to admit, right now I'm thinking what the heck did i do to myself?

Keep taking it as prescribed. Try a heating pad for your pain. I wonder if you're feeling the gas pain in your hips. I hope it eases up soon. You've got to walk - especially to avoid blood clots. Call your surgeon if doesn't get better.

Hi dcoral:

You're probably hitting two problems (1) the norco isn't as effective as the IV Meds you were on and (2) laying in bed for so long is making everything ache. (And of course the gas adds to that)

I hear you--my surgery was on 4/28 and that second part was killing me! Walking helped. Getting out of bed was no fun but made me feel better. I felt noticeably better each day and was cutting those norco in half by day three (and adding one Tylenol). By day 7 I was off all pain meds.

The worst is over--you'll be better soon!

One of the great things about today's medical procedures is................THE DRUGS...... :)

Never understood why anyone would struggle through agonizing pain and not simply ask for more powerful meds.

There is no reason to be in pain.

If it hurts.....ask for something stronger. If you don't want to use stronger pain meds ....... then I got nothing.

I am 3 1/2 weeks post sleeve. Just now starting to feel better. The gas was hell. My incision sites hurt so bad, I cred everyday. But I also ended up with a really bad Uti/kidney infection. So I think I took longer to heal. They cut my pain meds off after 2 weeks. So I understand how you are feeling, but I promise, it will get better. Once you start putting on your smaller clothes, you will know you made the right decision. Good luck to you!

Walk, walk, walk, and then walk some more! Walk every 2 hrs minimum when you're awake. When I first came home I'd schedule my walks right after my pain meds kicked in. It will get better soon!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
