Hey There, My surgery is in two days (May 9) and I'm wondering what routine you had that helped, once you got home from surgery (like 2-3 days after getting home)? If so what did that routine that look like? Is that even realistic? Details welcome. Thx in advance.

No special routine different from before surgery other than making sure I had a Protein shake, tea or other Fluid with me 24/7 to sip sip sip....

Get up, sip, feed the cats, sip, feed the dogs, sip, feed the horses, sip, take a shower, sip, get dressed, sip, plow the driveway, sip, run to the store to get more stuff to sip. sip, get a haircut, sip. I went back to work 1 week postop and again, same routine other than make a huge Protein smoothie in the morning and sip it all day in between appointments. Come home from work, sip, feed the horses, sip, do laundry, sip, watch TV, sip, feed the dogs, sip, go to bed, sip, wake up to pee, sip.

Do you recommend Isopure drinks for post op day 2-3?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G530AZ using the BariatricPal App

I suggest trying them preop first. Isopure was the only thing that made me gag after surgery.....horrible aftertaste. Some people say they are better if you dilute them with Water and/or drink them ice cold, but IMO Syntrax Nectar tastes MUCH better. Unjury chicken broth is another good clear liquid and warm stuff went down better for me anyways.

Ok... I have that Unjury chicken broth... I thought maybe mixing it with chicken broth with Protein instead of Water to get in that more protein... I will go to GNC to try an isopure before pre-op... thx for tips

Good luck with surgery today! I had mine may 4th. Everyday will get better! First few days was hard for me to even get fluids down id just try and make sure to sip Water and ice chips when you can. They put so much in your IV at the hospital you wont get dehydrated for a few days at home anyway. Just make sure to work on Protein when you get to your stage two diet.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
