So it begins, sagging skin already

Recommended Posts

I knew it would come, heck I ALMOST welcomed it. Saggy skin means less fat, less weight.

But I didn't expect it to be so dramatic so soon. And of all places it started in my boobs. Come on, the one place it's okay to be big. Mine weren't giant, so I really didn't expect to lose much from them, I am (or was :/ ) only a cup size larger than when I was thin. Really body, there is plenty to lose from my stomach, my thighs, my arms first.

Despite that it's obviously fat loss, I am not sure this one counts as a victory.

Adding boob job to first plastics expense list....

Well, I'd try to say something encouraging about how loose skin can bounce back a little bit (though not usually near enough), but with your boobs, gravity will definitely be working against you. On the plus side, my boob job so much fun! Once you are past the expense, pain, and recovery, you will be loving life!

During the weight loss phase, do try wearing a supportive bra as much as possible. I even have a couple of sleep bras because I don't want the weight of my breasts pulling at the skin when I toss and turn. I have no idea if it really has helped, but it appears so; I have some very slight wrinkly skin when I lean over a certain way, but otherwise, the breasticle area has held up well (but I haven't lost hardly anything in the actual cup sizing, just the band size).

You know what's funny? My immediate postop weight came off my top half - one of my friends said "you're emptying from the top down!".

And then it evened out. Just in terms of inches, my greatest loss has been round my hips. I have no idea what is going on with this, but hey, losses, is losses.

And yeah, the boob lift will be first, but the way this apron is drooping, that can't be far behind.

I should say after nursing a couple of kids for two years each and being 36 they weren't exactly show stoppers to start... trade off's. At least as my bands I've gets smaller I will be able to get nice padded bras to hid it until surgery.

Seems to be mostly my lower half so far. 40lbs down and my thighs are loosening up and starting the dreaded thigh rub. Bought some compression shorts. Seems to help a bit.

@@PaulaB72 I'm looking for knee length compression shorts, to hold in all my loose thigh skin. What kind did you get? Are they comfortable to wear all day? Do they work well?

Thanks in advance

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
